Zenobia, sp!ked personnel are required neither to accept nor express your blithering drivel. Change the channel and go somewhere else, perhaps Lady Gaga’s page, if you want to hear conformist, unscientific nonsense about LGBTQ being all “born that way.”

As I listen to this, I’m overwhelmed with national envy. Why is it we Americans can’t generate such courageous women, willing “zu aussprechen was ist?” To tell the truth and not be afraid to say it? We have a poorer, more frightened, less labor-oriented community. The American culture of rugged individualism is a culture of narcissism, the lonely crowd, the scared little conformist “woke” rabbits. Calling themselves feminists.

The very fact that Brendan and Sp!ked are talking about this gives it credence. What all of this is is an illness of society. It’s simply an illness which happens to people who start down the mistaken left-wing ‘progressive’ path. I cannot see why the left wing do not recognise the dangers inherent in their political position.

The political spectrum ranges between the two extremes of freedom vs equality. Far right political belief supports absolute freedom, to the extent that ‘might is right’. Far left political belief holds that absolute equality is necessary, to the Pol Pot extreme of killing anyone seen as successful.

The right-wing generally recognizes the dangers inherent in extreme right wing belief, and has many structures for mitigating them – the Monopolies Commission, for instance. The left wing has no such equivalent. So it has no defenses against its extremes, and regularly reaps the results. As was mentioned in the podcast, it’s the right wing which is defending the kids against left-wing extremism…

Nice bit of virtue signalling from O’Neill on this podcast. He’s doing exactly what he critiques the ‘liberals’ for doing. O’Neill gets down with the women!

I think the mothers who go along with this abuse of their children have a mental condition along the lines of Munchausen’s.

jessica christon

14th December 2019 at 8:18 am

Then it would be Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, where the symptoms are inflicted or projected onto a child. It is almost always mothers or female carers who present varying degrees of MSP, so I think you may be on to something there.

I have a friend whose daughter was taken by the state. That was not the only reason, but she’s living with a foster father who is helping several girls “transition.” Let’s not be quick to blame.

9th December 2019 at 1:59 pm

Interesting that there are no pro-trans views being represented on this podcast. O’Neill claims to be furthering debate but this is just a love-in between people of similar views.

9th December 2019 at 1:39 pm

How on earth can transgendereds be construed as ‘lying’. If someone is transgendered then that is an identifiable component of their personality which they have the right to express. Transgendered people are ‘gender dysphoric’ i.e. confused about their gender. Such confusion cannot be ‘cured’ any more than homosexuality may be ‘cured’. Given that the number of instances of biological males using a self-proclaimed tg identity to harass or hurt women is vanishingly small, I suggest the conclusions reached by the ideologues in this podcast are derived from their own personal hatred of something they don’t understand. Damnant quod non intelligunt. I hope that O’Neill and his interlocutors will now follow the logic of their arguments through to its natural conclusion and now seek to prevent lesbians from using female changing rooms and gay men from using male changing rooms.

Zenobia, you said, ” I hope that O’Neill and his interlocutors will now follow the logic of their arguments through to its natural conclusion and now seek to prevent lesbians from using female changing rooms and gay men from using male changing rooms”.

The matter being discussed on this page is nothing to do with homosexuality.

There wouldn’t be one set of toilets for males and a different set of toilets for females if there wasn’t good reason for it.

The fact that the penis is not part of the female anatomy means that it’s not possible for a woman to use her genitals to penetrate another person’s body.

Take a look at the Christopher Hambrook case in Canada.

Rikhard Wright

15th December 2019 at 3:28 pm

I have no wish to be controversial here, but, frankly, neither is it possible for a man to use his genitals to penetrate another person’s body unless other parts of his body have first been used to force that person into submission. The penis is not designed to force a whole person into submission, but the arms and legs are designed so that they can do that.
Without going into the details of kinky sex, it surely follows that a physically strong woman could overpower a less strong man, and thereafter have her way with him.
All I’m saying is that the mere fact of possessing a penis wouldn’t enable you as a rapist any more than someone who had a rapist’s mentality, but who didn’t have a penis.
Which, I suppose, boils down to sex being sex, and abuse being a separate issue.

16th December 2019 at 2:34 pm

You miss the point. Lesbians are sexually attracted to other women. Allowing lesbians into a female only space therefore constitutes a potential threat to other women (the same may be said of gay men in male-only changing rooms).

Would you accept that they are more like race dysphoric? now that’s a new one on you eh? the human race is and always has been MALE?FEMALE. SO! where does anything else fit in?

John Rodda

16th December 2019 at 10:04 am

Gender dysphoria and homosexuality are acquired aberrations which can and often are overcome. They are not inherent in anyone. If someone is schizophrenic we don’t encourage him in has mental condition, but encourage him to seek psychiatric treatment so that he can overcome his aberration and live a fulfilling life. So it should be with gender dysphoria and homosexuality. If we had any real compassion for these people we would want what is best for them.. What is best for them is that they seek help to overcome their aberration.

16th December 2019 at 2:38 pm

So you have a magic ‘cure’ for gender dysphoria and/or schizophrenia? Life is more complex than you realise. Your attempt to force a ‘cure’ on the gendered dysphoric may destroy many lives.

HOW IS IT “identifiable component of their personality” — by what means do you observe and scientifically measure it with the precisiuon of, say, and XX or XY gence … ? Just asking?

Jamie Johnston

If it is a “component” part of trans people why are there large numbers of people detransitioning? It makes no sense that we are told we must never question a trans person’s identity and it’s always real and any questioning of that identity is transphobic, yet when someone detransitions the trans activists claim that person was “never really trans”. It makes so sense. The TRAs also are extremely scathing and unsupportive of detransitioners.

Ellen Whitaker

I just watched a video of Sarah McBride wherein she talked about her gender dysphoria (before transition), saying it was like being dreadfully homesick. But she never said exactly what she was homesick for. It occurs to me after watching that video, and listening to this podcast, that every time a trans-woman comes out, and publicly advocates for her rights, she is she is displacing her identity crisis onto biological women. All of our lives we’ve been told we were women because of our biology. We accepted our bodies, and our sex, and fought for self-respect, even though the culture we lived in often didn’t respect us or our bodies. Now we are being told that we are not women because of our female bodies. Rather, there is at least one other kind of woman, those born with a penis, and we are 2 different kinds of women. But no one ever says what this thing is, that we only 1 variety of. How could we transition, even if we wanted to, to a new sexual identity that is completely undefined. If “woman” isn’t defined by biology and isn’t defined (I hope) by superficial gender stereotypes, then what is a woman?

Great podcast. Just because Sean wants to mutilate his body I don’t think society should sanction it. Even more so with the children discussed in the podcast.
Name: Sean O’Connor
Condition: Body integrity identity disorder

“I have attempted to break my back, but I missed. I need to be paraplegic, paralysed from the waist down.”

Sean O’Connor is a very rational man. But he also tried, unsuccessfully, to sever his spine, and still feels a need to be paralysed

If a leg is gangrenous, is it ‘mutilation’ to remove it? Why should the freedom of the individual be limited by the ignorance of the majority? Damnant quod non intelligunt.

Two more useful idiots who are unable to see the logical ideological endpoint of feminism: I can snap my fingers, become a woman, snap my fingers, then be a man again… because gender is a “social construct”.

It’s time for feminists to stop calling themselves feminists and actively oppose the movement.

I think you’ll find Posie is not a feminist, so you cannot beat her with your favoured stick.

9th December 2019 at 2:01 pm

No, she just has an irrational fear of transexuals. Actually, I think you will find that she is a feminist as there are very few modern women who have not been influenced by it.

jessica christon

Brendan refers to Posie as a feminist in this podcast more than once, I believe, but she doesn’t correct him.

Jamie Johnston

5th January 2020 at 9:14 am

Zenobia it’s actually politically incorrect to use the term transsexuals now. Transgender people would try and get you banned from Twitter for using it. 90%+ of men who consider themselves trans retain their penis and have no intention of having gender reassignment surgery, which was what transsexualism was until about a decade ago.

8th December 2019 at 10:19 pm

Well if it makes you feel better to have a scapegoat.

Again, can someone please tell me why the Irish can change the law to allow gender self-identification with little or no public reaction whereas in the UK the merest mention of the word ‘transgender’ induces mass hysteria? Where are all the rapes and assaults on women committed by tg people since that law was passed? Denmark has done the same, without incident and without diminishing women’s rights or reducing their personal safety.

Again, why this hysteria in the UK?

Tim Hare

8th December 2019 at 11:55 pm

Can you give some examples of the ‘mass hysteria’ that you see? Are people in those other countries you mention free to discuss the transgender ideology without being censured or ridiculed or non-platformed or called in for questioning by police? Do you agree with such tactics?

9th December 2019 at 1:27 pm

This podcast is typical of the current anti-trans hysteria. There are transgendereds everywhere – in your bed, in your children’s school, in the workplace and even in your cranium – especially in your cranium.

It may have a lot to do with Google dominating the Irish economy and pushing through ideology that matches their HR agenda, before the population have really understood the long term repercussions of saying there is no such thing as objective biological sex.
