A very poor interview. PT was not questioned about his documented support for paedophilia. Nos surprising really given how fellow BRCP cohort Claire Fox is ambivalent at best about noncing.

The discussion about exposure to hormones causing trans/gayness was vapid, and BON did not push him on this nonsense.

I was amazed Brendan did not push PT on trans identity politics.

V poor interview,, in what has been so far an excellent series.

Belinda.
Thank you for your post. I refused to listen to this one for two reasons.
1 As you point out Tatchell is an advocate for paedophilia and that absolutely disgusts me.
2 He is not a ‘ human rights activist.
He is an activist for homosexual rights .. fine, but they have them, he is pushing for sexual depravity.

This isn’t something to be celebrated, and yet another chapter in the “Give em’ an inch, and they’ll want ten” handbook on diversity-communism. They’re deserving of the same right not to be beaten up by the cops as everyone else, and yet they’ve been able to dictate to us about how they want their per ver sion to be propagated to our children.

In my opinion, there should be a clear distinction made between Trans-people ( individuals that have gone through transition, have had therapy and counseling, etc to ensure they are making the decision best for them) and people who ‘self-identify’ who do not intend to have surgery, etc. People who self identify are people who have a ‘kink’, or going through a phase, or at the worst end, are opportunistic misogynists, they are not ‘women’ in any way, and should not be allowed in ‘women’ only spaces, not on the basis that they ‘feel’ like women, to allow the latter based on ‘feeling like a….’ is indulging in fantasy and fable. We are seeing the latter have detrimental effects for trans-people and women.

As a white cisgender man I am sickened by those who tell me that my voice is worthless. Shame on you and you will never kill my humanity.

Where did Peter even say this?

Are you imagining things?

Amelia Cantor

Your “voice” is not “worthless” — it is worse than worthless. That is, it is highly toxic and must be silenced. Unless, that is, you are an ally of BAME communities, the Muslim community and the trans community.

Danny Rees

Pack it in your attempt at parodying the Left is utterly moronic and completely pathetic.

Maybe you are trying to be like Titania McGrath who is about as “funny” as you are.

Amelia Cantor

Cisgender white males do not get to decide what racism is. They are beneficiaries of racism and have been for thousands of years.

The victims of racism get to decide what racism is. This is a core principle of progressive politics.

Peter Tatchell made a v. bad mistake by appearing with O’Neill, who is a prime exemplar of racism and Islamophobia. Fortunately, the LGBTQIA+ community in general know that hate speech is not free speech and that those who hate the Muslim community also hate the LGBTQIA+ community. We must unite to smash hate and build a better world.

Danny Rees

19th August 2019 at 2:17 pm

I have no time for Brendan O’Neill but you are saying it IS racist to criticise homophobia expressed by Muslims?

Your comment that it’s not for white cisgender men to decide what is or is not racism is ridiculous as BAME trans women don’t all agree on racism.

Amelia Cantor

20th August 2019 at 10:25 am

BAME trans women don’t all agree on racism.

A red herring. BAME trans wombyn are overwhelmingly against racism and whitesplaining, which means they are against O’Neill and other cisgender white men whitesplaining to them what racism is and isn’t.

Fact. 100% fact.

You’re a crap attempt to parody the Left.

Amelia Cantor

“You’re a crap attempt to parody the Left.”

No, I’m an authentic voice of the Left. Nothing I say is parodic, as you’d know if you weren’t a typically ignorant and arrogant cisgender white male rightard (or coconut spouting the same views).

Danny Rees

“No, I’m an authentic voice of the Left. Nothing I say is parodic, as you’d know if you weren’t a typically ignorant and arrogant cisgender white male rightard (or coconut spouting the same views).”

Yes yes cos the “libtards” call anyone they disagree with a cisgender white male.

Yeah yeah sooo clever.

Listen we on the Left don’t call BAME people we disagree with “coconut” Trying to frame us for racism is just pathetic.

It’s not for the likes of you to decide what white men can or can’t do, petal.

Amelia Cantor

20th August 2019 at 10:23 am

It is up to the “likes” of me, Neil. Because the future is female, BAME and intersectional. The Muslim community (for example) are ever more youthful in terms of their demographic profile, whereas cisgender white males like you are ever more elderly in terms of their demographic profile.

But, as ever, don’t let reality impinge on your fantasies. Your white male fragility must be protected, lest it shatter into a billion pieces.

Ven Oods

20th August 2019 at 1:57 pm

AC holds that “the future is female, BAME and intersectional”, but that can’t be right. “The future is Orange”, like that TV ad said.

Just look at the USA. It’s started already.

Forgot to take the meds again sweetie?

“Sweetie” is a vocative, you sad little man. It therefore needs to be separated from the rest of the sentence with a comma. Can you see how I did it with the vocative “you sad little man”?

I am a brown man who thinks people who say white men can’t define racism are racist – so I guess my opinion trumps yours.

Amelia Cantor

20th August 2019 at 10:20 am

I am a brown man who thinks people who say white men can’t define racism are racist – so I guess my opinion trumps yours.

No, Kevin, it doesn’t. Because you are in a minority in your particular BAME community, whatever it happens to be. As you are well aware. BAME communities vote overwhelmingly for the Labour party, whose anti-racist agenda has no time for “free speech” or whitesplaining and whose shadow home secretary is Diane Abbott.

And Diane, as you are again well aware, represents the views of BAME folk on racism and hate speech in a way that you, as a coconut and Uncle Tom, do not.

So I issue this plea to you: stop being a coconut, stop collaborating with white racism, and stop harming your own community.

Ven Oods

20th August 2019 at 1:59 pm

“And Diane, as you are again well aware, represents the views of BAME folk on racism and hate speech…”

And Arithmetic, don’t forget.

You crow about the massive increase in Muslims under the age of 15, yet also claim to support trans people? Did what happened outside Birmingham primary schools recently pass you by?

The latest research shows that brain research supports trans? Source? In any case that would make them trans with a neuroanatomical basis, not women with a neuroanatomical basis.
