Dr Daniel Price
researcher in astrophysics at the University of Exeter

First, I was inspired by grandfather, who always had a keen interest in astronomy and passed several of his astronomy books on to me. Second, I was inspired by a family friend who was a lecturer in astronomy, and who always encouraged my interest.

My father encouraged an interest in computer programming, which is strongly related to the science that I am now doing. Finally, the availability of a double degree program in science and engineering helped me to see that science is far more interesting than engineering.
