‘I tried to save them’

Grooming-gangs whistleblower Maggie Oliver on what she saw in Rochdale.

Topics Politics UK

Victims of the rape gangs are being let down – again. The UK’s Labour government is stalling a public inquiry into the industrial-scale abuse of Britain’s working class girls by mainly Pakistani Muslim men. Speaking to spiked’s Georgina Mumford, former police constable Maggie Oliver – who blew the whistle on the Rochdale child-abuse ring – reveals how these crimes were covered up by the authorities, and how the victims were neglected, blamed and even criminalised. She is currently suing the UK government over its failures to protect young girls. Watch, share and let us know what you think in the comments below.
