The right to be tried by a jury of one’s peers was enshrined in Magna Carta, yet it could soon be torn up by the Labour government. This is a threat not only to justice, but also to free speech. Defendants charged with so-called speech crimes are almost twice as likely to be found not guilty when tried by a jury than when judged by a magistrate.

Tickets for the event are available here. Discounts are available for spiked supporters and members of the Free Speech Union. If you’re a spiked supporter, the promo code has already been sent to you in an email – please contact us via [email protected] if you haven’t received it. Apply the promo code at the checkout here.

If you’re not yet a spiked supporter, then sign up here to claim your discount to this event and get unlimited access to spiked.
