Is Meghan Markle being singled out because of her race? Is it wrong to expect the Duchess to keep her opinions to herself? Or is she just a snob who rubs people up the wrong way? Watch spiked’s Tom Slater discuss the backlash to Markle’s guest-editorship of Vogue on Sky News.

Is dirty-looking hair the way now for women?

An unelected head of state is incompatible with modern democracy. In a true democracy, the people are sovereign. Elizabeth Windsor must do the honourable thing and stand down since she was never elected by the people, or any body of the people. The Privy Council, Royal Prerogative, primogeniture, the House of Frauds, office of Lord Chancellor, and of course the monarchy itself, all offend against innate principles of natural justice.

Surely if Thunberg is someone who has helped change things for the good … the ‘progressive good’ as opposed to just good old fashioned ‘good’ of course ! Can we assume the planet is now cooling, and if so can she just go back to school like a good little girl ?

The cheapest dress in Vogue is about a thousand pounds, ‘but Vogue only costs £2.00’.
I can go to Rolls Royce and get a glossy brochure, but never in a million years am I going to be accepted into that exclusive club, never in a million years can I buy into that club.

‘ Forces for change, how can you really argue with that ‘ weren’t Hitler and Stalin ..’forces for change’ ?
What a trivial thing to say from a trivial bimbo.
And it appeared there was unanimity in the fact that the messages from the 15 girls were ‘good’.
I only know the views of one , Thunberg, her views are positively catastrophic.
I think Tom could have punched way harder than he did. He skipped around without actually going onto any kind of offensive. Politeness doesn’t cut it with these people.

Cate Sevilla said absolutely nothing. Had she listened in the slightest to Tom she should have simply kept schtum, but I don’t think her capable of grasping his points.

Well done Tom for sticking to your guns. Coming straight out about abolishing the monarchy can, however, mean that many people just switch off from whatever else you say. A less direct attack as in their arrogance of telling us the faults we inherited at birth from the platform of the privileged position they inherited at birth.

I would never suggest to any young woman or girl in my sphere of influence that marrying well is the way to go.

It is the idea that we need female role models that is patronising. If I am blue eyed do I need to see a blue eyed role model?

This kind of woke virtue signalling is always going to grate, no matter if it comes from the royals. And where does the royal family fit in with the intersectional hierarchy?
