How a post about Southport landed Jamie Michael in jail

Jamie Michael, a former Royal Marine from Wales, was arrested on suspicion of ‘inciting racial hatred’ in August 2024.

His supposed crime was to make a Facebook video, railing against illegal migration, following the Southport attacks. He was held on remand for 17 days, before being acquitted by a jury in 17 minutes.

Here, he tells his story to spiked’s Tom Slater.
