survey

'What's the Greatest Innovation?' is a survey of key thinkers in science, technology and medicine, conducted by spiked in collaboration with the research-based pharmaceutical company Pfizer. Contributors were asked to identify what they see as the greatest innovation in their field. More than a hundred experts and authorities have responded already, including half-a-dozen Nobel laureates.

The survey will roll through May and June, and the discussion will go live at an event in central London on Wednesday 6 June - book tickets here.

Innovation is a widely used word today and something many people and organisations are in hot pursuit of. This shouldn't surprise us, as innovations in many fields have transformed the way we live and led to substantial improvements to our quality of life. One field in which innovation is common is the discovery and development of new medicines, which begin with an idea and travel and long and complex journey to pharmacy shelves. Our scientists are continually innovating - and continually searching for inspiration for their next innovation. And we're sure many other people are too. While the views expressed in the survey do not necessarily reflect the views of Pfizer, we are proud to partner with spiked to learn more about great innovations and, hopefully, fuel some ideas.

Surveying the responses
Mick Hume, editor-at-large, spiked
'What's the Greatest Innovation?' provides some illuminating insight both into the important developments of the recent and more distant past, and into the way those involved at the cutting edge see the issue of innovation today.
