| Dear reader,
We urgently need your help if spiked is to survive into 2010.
In fact, to prevent spiked being credit-crunched out of existence, we need to raise £20,000 by the end of the year. And, dear reader, that is only two months away.
Try to imagine a world without spiked. Set up in 2001, we have spent this decade kicking against backward trends, defending liberty, Enlightenment and excellence against a tidal wave of misanthropy, illiberalism and kneejerkism.
Without spiked’s daily salvo of Enlightened thinking, who could you truly rely upon to defend free speech unconditionally? To fight for humanity’s interests above the imaginary interests of “The Planet”? To do battle against fearmongering, priggishness and the politics of low horizons?
I believe a world without spiked would be an intellectually poorer place – but that is a real prospect unless we can raise enough money to cover our costs and overheads.
spiked has no sugar daddy or wealthy benefactor. We rely on our generous readers alone to sustain us – and we’re relying on you now more than ever.
Please help us to SOS – save our spiked – today. If you have thought about donating before but have never got around to it, now is the time to do it. And if you have donated previously, please do so again!
By far the best way to give to spiked is to make a monthly donation. This gives us a sure footing in financially rough times – and these times are especially rough – and allows us to plan bigger and better things in the future.
