The concept of plate tectonics

I should teach the world the concept of plate tectonics. Our understanding of the solid Earth beneath our feet is based upon this.

Through understanding plate tectonics, we have banished much of the mysticism surrounding natural hazards. If plate tectonics were properly appreciated by world leaders, then there would have been a tsunami warning system for the Indian Ocean.
