I should teach the world that the material world can only be understood through experiment, measurement and observation. All theories and models of the material world must be verified by experiment, measurement and observation. Thus we know that the universe is about 15billion years old, we know that the Earth is about five billion years old, and we know that that life has developed through evolution, over many millions of years. Religious faith or mysticism cannot tell us anything about the material world. Martin Perl is author of Reflections on Experimental Science (buy this book from Amazon (UK) or Amazon (USA)).
