 | Vivienne Parry science writer and broadcaster You do not have to be bright to do science
I should teach the world that you do not have to be bright to do science. People think that science is the preserve of clever people alone. But in truth, if you follow the scientific method, then anyone can do it. Understanding this would break down the barriers that currently exist, between non-scientists and scientists, and would - at a stroke - make science accessible to everyone. A proper understanding of risk, and the difference between risk and hazard, would help to prevent many scares, and would ensure that science budgets were spent more appropriately.
