geologist and Royal Society research fellow at University College London
The scientific method

I should teach the world the scientific method. Only when you understand the scientific method, can you assess the strengths and weaknesses of the latest bit of science and technology, so this would genuinely inform public debate. And by applying the method of observation, theory making, and testing by experiment, I believe that the vast majority of the world's population could improve their lives in some way - both in the developed and in the developing world.
