Science is akin to common sense

I should teach the world that science is akin to common sense. Science is reliable knowledge that we scientists, and anyone else who takes the trouble, have gained by interrogating and experiencing the natural world. Truth in science is attained by reason, and by appeal to experiment. This truth is always provisional.
