 | Dr Ilya V Eigenbrot international science communication officer at Imperial College London What a chemical is, and that it can be neither inherently 'good' nor 'bad'
The most important scientific concept, that everyone should understand, is what a chemical is, and that it can be neither inherently 'good' nor 'bad'. Understanding this would perhaps lead to more respect for the plants in the biosphere, that make all of the molecules that we humans are built from. And understanding this would cut off the source of misunderstanding used by countless charlatans, to make billions from the principle that natural chemicals are 'good', while manmade chemicals are 'bad'.
